Introduction

Welcome to Zap Ads ("we," "our," or "us"). We are committed to protecting your personal information and your right to privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use our AI-powered ad generation service at zapads.co (the "Service").

Data controller

For the purposes of the EU and UK General Data Protection Regulation ("GDPR"), Zap Ads is the controller of personal data described in this policy, unless we act solely as a processor on behalf of another party. To exercise your rights or ask questions, contact us at support@zapads.co.

Information we collect

Personal information

We collect information that you provide directly to us, including:

  • Name and email address
  • Account credentials (managed through our authentication provider)
  • Payment and billing information (processed by our payment provider; we do not store full card numbers)
  • Business information and preferences you choose to share

Content you upload

When you use the Service, we process:

  • Product images and descriptions
  • Brand assets and guidelines
  • Generated ad content and related metadata

Technical and usage data

We automatically receive certain information when you use the Service, such as IP address, device and browser type, general location derived from IP, pages viewed, and diagnostic data. If you accept analytics cookies, our analytics provider may collect similar usage data as described under "Cookies and similar technologies" below.

How we handle your data

We process personal data to operate, secure, and improve the Service. In outline, the lifecycle is:

  • Account and authentication: Identity data is stored with our database and authentication provider so you can sign in and we can associate your workspace with your account.
  • Ad generation: Content you upload is transmitted to our backend and, for AI features, to vetted third-party inference services solely to produce outputs you request.
  • Storage: Account data, uploads, and generated assets are stored in our cloud database and object storage (encrypted in transit and at rest where supported by our providers).
  • Billing: Subscription and payment events are processed by our payment provider; we retain records needed for accounting, fraud prevention, and legal compliance.
  • Support and security: We may access limited data when you contact us or when we investigate abuse, errors, or security incidents.

Retention: We keep personal data only as long as needed to provide the Service, meet legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements. When you delete your account or ask us to delete your data, we will delete or anonymize personal data unless we must retain certain records by law.

Account deletion: To request deletion of your account and associated personal data, email support@zapads.co. We will confirm identity where appropriate and complete the request within a reasonable time, subject to legal exceptions.

How we use your information

We use the information we collect to:

  • Provide, maintain, and improve our AI ad generation service
  • Process your transactions and manage your subscription
  • Send you technical notices, updates, and support messages
  • Respond to your comments and questions
  • Analyze usage patterns to improve our service (including via analytics when you consent)
  • Detect, prevent, and address technical issues and fraud
  • Comply with legal obligations

Legal bases (EEA, UK, and similar laws)

Where GDPR or UK GDPR applies, we rely on the following legal bases:

  • Contract: Processing necessary to provide the Service you request (account, generation, delivery of outputs, billing).
  • Legitimate interests: Securing the Service, debugging, product improvement, and preventing abuse, where not overridden by your rights.
  • Consent: Non-essential cookies and optional analytics when you click "Accept analytics," and any marketing communications where required.
  • Legal obligation: Where we must retain or disclose information to comply with the law.

Service providers

We use trusted third parties to host the Service, authenticate users, store data, process payments, run AI inference, and (if you consent) provide analytics. They process information only as instructed by us and are bound by confidentiality and data-protection obligations appropriate to their role.

We do not sell your personal information. Specific vendors may change over time; we will reflect material changes in this policy and the "Last updated" date. You may contact us for more detail about how we share data where the law requires it.

International transfers

We and our service providers may process data in the United States and other countries where we or they operate. If we transfer personal data from the EEA, UK, or Switzerland to countries not subject to an adequacy decision, we use appropriate safeguards such as the EU Standard Contractual Clauses (and UK Addendum where applicable) or other mechanisms permitted by law. You may contact us for more information about such safeguards.

Data storage and security

We implement industry-standard security measures to protect your information. Your data is stored with reputable cloud providers with encryption in transit and at rest where supported. No method of transmission over the Internet is completely secure; we work to protect your data but cannot guarantee absolute security.

AI and data processing

Our AI models process your uploaded content to generate advertisements. We do not use your content to train our own models without your explicit consent. Inference may be performed using third-party AI infrastructure; those providers process inputs and outputs only as needed to deliver the Service. Generated ads remain your intellectual property as set out in our Terms of Service.

Your rights (including GDPR and UK GDPR)

Depending on your location, you may have the right to:

  • Access the personal data we hold about you
  • Correct inaccurate or incomplete data
  • Request deletion of your data ("right to be forgotten"), subject to legal exceptions
  • Restrict or object to certain processing
  • Data portability, where applicable
  • Withdraw consent at any time (without affecting prior lawful processing)
  • Lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority in your country or region

To exercise these rights, email support@zapads.co. We will respond within the timeframes required by applicable law. You may also manage non-essential cookies via the cookie banner on our site.

Cookies and similar technologies

We use cookies and similar technologies for essential functions and, with your consent, for analytics. You can change your analytics choice anytime by clearing site data for zapads.co and revisiting the site (the banner will appear again), or by contacting support for guidance.
